There was a small choking sound that came from behind her, and Jeanne turned just in time to see Sabrina hiding her face. The woman had tears in her eyes. Jeanne immediately sprang to her feet, but Sabrina held up one hand. Her voice was a whisper. “Don’t trouble yourself, My Lady.”

Jeanne refused to be diverted. She led Sabrina into the house, and sat her down by the fireside. Vradic’s mother sat on one side, and Jeanne took up a concerned pose on the other side. Lea watched with concern from across the room. Jeanne noticed she was speaking into a small com device.
